Beach life
Towel, beach bar and a bike ride without taking transport all day. In summer the seafront is a continuous festival; the center is twenty minutes on foot or one metro stop.
The neighborhood contrast
Two streets back from the promenade, lifelong bars, the market and squares where petanque is played survive. That resort-meets-barrio mix divides visitors: you will love it or hate it.
Trade-offs
The price is terrace noise in summer and, outside the tower hotels, smallish rooms. Book months ahead for June to September.
